Hey. Glad you're here!
God sees us in the places we don’t want to be and His presence is our greatest provision. He knows where we’ve been and where we are going. An in the midst of uncertainty, suffering, and even injustice, He invites us to rest in the God who cares.
Join me in this study of Hagar, an Old Testament woman with a modern message.
Introduction to the study
SESSION 1
He Sees Me, I am Not Alone
It’s easy to get caught up in circumstances that quickly excite or overwhelm us. The Bible is full of people wrestling with the chasm between fact and emotion. The story of Hagar in Genesis depicts a woman who was frantic with fear and uncertainty. She was a pawn in someone else’s game of self-control. Hagar experienced the God who sees in the midst of her wandering and His words transformed her. He offers the same for each of us – the promise that He sees us and we are not alone.
SESSION 2
He Provides for Me; I Do Not Need to Fear
Where do you turn when the money runs out, the job ends, or you feel alone and afraid? The uncertainties of life plant seeds of fear, and when allowed to grow, they produce a harvest of anxiety and panic. This week, we find Hagar on the run, years after her initial attempt to leave Abraham and Sarah. She is plagued with fear and irrational thoughts. It’s in the desert that Hagar once again encounters God. This time, it’s the “God who provides” making Himself known. Are you desperate for your needs to be met? Are you tired of being tethered to fear? Discover the life-changing power of a God who cares.
SESSION 3

SESSION 4
He Hears Me; I Only Need to Ask
Have you ever felt like you’re in distress and no one hears your cry for help? Our desperation can lead us to Jesus, or it can tempt us to give up. This week, walk through the anguish Hagar felt as her deep need threatened her life. Discover how God heard her plea for help and see how He responded to Hagar and Ishmael. Do you know the God who hears? We only need to ask.
